Bi-lingual Social Worker, Geriatrics

Our network of food pantries, affordable housing sites, and JCCs provide services directly in neighborhoods across New York.

What You'll Do:

You will be responsible for spearheading our outreach efforts into non-English (Spanish or Chinese) speaking communities. This includes outreach to senior centers and City Council offices to offer in-person or electronic educational workshops in Spanish or Chinese on elder abuse and how to prevent victimization. You will work with our Russian-speaking social worker assisting with making presentations as appropriate. You will provide direct service to a small caseload of both English and non-English speaking clients in either Chinese or Spanish, assisting them with safety planning, filing orders of protection, benefits/entitlements, info and referrals, short-term supportive counseling, and emergency cash assistance.

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $50,000 to $57,000 per year. The benefits package includes major medical, dental, vision and life insurance; pre-tax commuter benefits; FSA; 403(b) with employer contribution; plus generous vacation, sick leave and holidays. This is currently a hybrid position (Monday-Thursday on-site/field, Friday remote).
