Met Council is America’s largest Jewish charity dedicated to serving the needy. We fight poverty through comprehensive social services and by treating each client with compassion, integrity, and respect. Our programs are staffed by experts who help over 325,000 clients each year and advocate on behalf of all needy New Yorkers. Our services include 100% affordable housing at 21 locations, family violence program, Holocaust survivor assistance, geriatric social work, crisis intervention and the largest free kosher food distribution program in the world. Our network of 120 food pantries, affordable housing sites, and JCCs provide services directly in neighborhoods across New York City.

Position Summary:

The mission of the Community Outreach Coordinator’s role is to elevate the profile of the Chesed Center/Brooklyn Hub and Met Council’s services more broadly in the surrounding communities. That will include building institutional relationships, but also recruiting individuals to participate in our various programs, services, classes, and events.

The role of the Community Outreach Coordinator at the Chesed Center in Boro Park is to work effectively with community agencies, organizations, shuls, and yeshivos. This includes researching, conducting outreach, meeting with and fostering relationships with community agencies, and with individuals from the target communities. The Community Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for planning and coordinating community outreach campaigns and events in the community throughout the year and will also attend Met Council community events and distributions as needed. The Community Outreach Coordinator will be tasked with entering and documenting any associated data into our database on these relationships and to compile and present on the data as needed.

Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000 per year.
